The seeds are among the indigenous peoples of Scandinavia. The original settlement area stretches from southern Sweden to regions in the north of Sweden, Norway and Finland, to the White Sea and the Barents Sea in Russia. Due to the geographical location, it is obvious that fish is one of the main foodstuff of the Sami people. Smoking is a tried and tested method for prolonging the shelf life of fish, but also for enhancing its flavour.
We use an ancient family recipe. No wonder, since the owner of the fish factory has Norwegian roots himself! And that's not all: The recipe for our Scottish smoked salmon comes from his great-great-grandmother. It has been in the family for generations and is guarded like a treasure.
In our salmon factory we smoke the salmon hanging. With the old seeds it was common to smoke the salmon overnight. We still maintain this tradition today, because only then the taste is convincing from the first to the last bite. The smoking process takes place twice at a maximum of 15 degrees. Low-temperature smoking succeeds in creating unique taste moments.

By the way, this salmon has no frills. You are welcome to serve it with your favourite side dishes, it goes well with various sauces, but it also tastes great on its own! Fresh bread, a touch of lemon, that's all it takes to eat happily!
Origin: The main suppliers from Scotland run high-quality salmon farms. A low stocking density and clean North Atlantic water on the Scottish coast make Scottish farmed salmon of the highest quality.

At the Hamburg fish factory, shelf-life is achieved exclusively by slaughtering freshly caught fish and naturally preserving it with salt, spices and smoke. If you do not want to eat the salmon immediately, it can be frozen very easily. In frozen condition the salmon will last up to 1 year.
